Chapter 1 was essentially an introduction design where gave a general overview of what graphical design was. I laid out the main purposes of design. To capture a target attention. Guide their eye to the information that they want to convey. Deseminate information for a particular cause and evoke the desired effect. It also touched on the importance of white space and talked about tool like thumbnail sketching.
Chapter 2 focused on coming up with ideas for your project and how to research and plan you layout.
Chapter 3 focused on the works every time layout setting your visual at the top of the page and all copy and other info under the pitcure.
Chapter 4 focused on the biggest mistakes that designers make. Centering everything. Bad use of photos. using too many fonts. Lots of boxes and borders. Margin errors. Busy backgrounds and so on. I saw some really tacky stuff there that I have seen many times in real life.
